Laser hair removal and PCOS
Managing the growth, honestly.
PCOS laser hair removal
If you have PCOS, you have probably been told laser won’t work for you, or been sold a course of six as though it were a cure. Neither is right.
Laser does work with PCOS, and our own clients get good results. What’s different is the shape of the outcome. Hair growth driven by hormones keeps being driven by hormones, so the honest goal is managing the growth rather than ending it. That means a course, then ongoing maintenance, rather than a course and a wave goodbye.
What that looks like in practice
Most people see a real reduction in density and speed of regrowth over their first course. Coarse dark hair thins. The daily or every-other-day management most people with PCOS are doing quietly becomes weekly, then less than that.
What we won’t tell you is a number of sessions after which it stops. We’ll give you a realistic plan at your patch test, review it as we go, and tell you plainly if it isn’t doing what we hoped.
Two things worth knowing
If you take any supplement marketed for hair growth, stop at least three months before you start. It works directly against the treatment.
If your PCOS is being managed with medication, bring the details to your patch test, because some medicines affect how your skin responds to light.
