Aftercare
The first 48 hours, then the following weeks.
Five things, then forget about it.
The first 48 hours.
No heat, 24 hours either side
No gym, sauna, steam room or hot showers, before as well as after. Getting hot and sweaty around a session is what causes heat rash.
Loose cotton
Wear something loose and breathable for the rest of the day. Tight synthetic fabric on a warm treated area is a miserable combination.
Chilled aloe vera
Keep a bottle in the fridge so it’s properly cold when you need it. It’s the single most useful thing you can have waiting at home.
No fragrance, use SPF 50
Nothing perfumed on the treated area for 24 hours, including deodorant. Then SPF 50 every day for four weeks, cloud or not.
Drink water
Staying properly hydrated across a course really does help your skin cope. If it hasn’t settled by day three, ring us on 07398 896462.
Week one
The area may feel like mild sunburn. Cool it with chilled aloe or a damp flannel, never ice. Moisturise with something unfragranced. Keep it out of strong sun.
Week two to three
The hair starts shedding. It will look patchy, and it will look like it is growing back. It is not. It is working its way out. You can shave. Don’t wax, pluck, thread or epilate.
Before your next session
Sessions are six to eight weeks apart. Shave 24 hours beforehand. No fake tan for two weeks, no sun or sunbeds for four. If you’ve started any new medication or supplement since we last saw you, tell us before we start.
